About Mario
B.Sc., R. Ac., R. TCMP
My name is Mario Baldassare Amato, and I am proud to serve as Chatham Kent’s registered acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese medicine. After earning my science degree from the University of Western Ontario, I pursued a four-year program in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at the Institute of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in London, Ontario. This rigorous program included two years of clinical training, equipping me with the skills and expertise to offer high-quality care.
In 2000, I opened the Chatham Kent Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Clinic at 232 St. Clair Street, fulfilling my goal of bringing this time-honored healing practice back to my community. Our clinic is designed to provide comprehensive care, addressing both acute and chronic health concerns.
I am a long-standing member of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), an organization instrumental in advocating for the regulation of TCM in Ontario and other provinces. The CMAAC played a vital role in establishing the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO), which sets the standards for safe, ethical, and effective practice across the province.
My journey in Chinese medicine is rooted in a desire to make a difference in the lives of my patients. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, managing chronic conditions, or looking to improve your overall wellness, my mission is to help you find balance and vitality through personalized care.
